The European Investigative Journalism Conference

Thursday June 1: Master classes and Hackday

Arrive a day before the conference opens and dive into some learning experiences! We have 3 full-day master classes that will go into depth on central areas of investigative journalism in Europe – or you can choose to join the data nerds and help find and clean data sets for you and your colleagues to dig into for stories during and after the conference.

You sign up for these activities when you buy the Dataharvest conference ticket (and you can only participate, if you are also participating in the conference).

Master class: Coordinating cross-border investigations

Today, reporting on most important topics requires cross-border collaboration and data skills. Yet, launching a cross-border investigation may look overwhelming – the team, the media outlets, the coordination… But it can be done, and this master class will help you!

Master class: Researching the EU

How do you find out how your national politicians act in Brussels and hold them accountable for it? How did your government act in the council? And how do you follow a national story that leads to the EU?

Master class: Investigating corporate lobbying

Big corporations spend millions on lobbying our politicians, both on national and international level. How can we investigate and document what happens behind the scenes?

Hackday: Find, organize, clean

Are you good with data – or want to be better? Join the Hackday and help find and clean data!
