Historical Mechelen
Historical Mechelen
Walking tour - max 25 people, sign up here!
Did you know that Mechelen played an important political and economic role in the fifteenth century, when the city was under the rule of the Dukes of Burgundy? Many historical buildings testify to this: St. Rumbold's Cathedral, the former palaces of Margaret of Austria and Margaret of York, the Palace of the Grand Council, etc. etc. The Historical City Walk now also takes in the newly discovered fourteenth-century wall paintings in St. John's Church. Follow your guide through historical Mechelen.
Begins 18:30 at Schepenhuis - Grote Markt, Vleeshouwersstraat 6

LIVE Journalism on stage
Open for all
Have you ever experienced journalism being presented to a live audience? There's a growing community of practitioners developing across Europe to do just that. This year, Dataharvest will showcase a Live Journalism production featuring investigations done by our community, organised with Christine Liehr of Headliner.
Begins 18:30 at the conference venue.
Not just for fun: Nerd Jam
The Nerd Jam is all about showing each other our software projects, our exploratory scripts or interesting use cases for established tools. It's a session to learn and be inspired from others who use code to wrangle data and support their work. Alex Ștefănescu and Klil Eden lead the discussion! If you'll be joining us, fill out this form. And if you have short (<15 minute) session ideas, please share them.
Begins 18:00 in room Z2.01
